700mW BDR-S06J 12X 405nm Blu-Ray Laser Diode

Description

Listing is for a single 5.6mm 700mW 12X 405nm BDR-S06J Blu Ray diode. This is a genuine BDR-S06J 405nm diode not the lower efficiency more sensitive 12X diode from the SF-BW512L that are often sold as BDR-S06J. When driven @ 500mA you can expect ~770mW with a DTR-G-2 lens and ~570mW with a DTR-3E-B glass lens but the diodes. Efficiency will vary a little and I have seen some hit as high as 850mW with a DTR-G-2 glass lens being driven @ 500mA.
Diodes are current hungry and as they heat up their internal resistance is lowered causing them to want to draw more current. Don't attempt to connect the diode directly to a fixed voltage source like a battery. You must use a proper laser driver with the current limited to no more than 500mA or you diode will suffer thermal runaway and die. I do have options for the diode in module with driver if you need. The diodes are professionally extracted from new S06J Blu Ray disk burners. The pins will be cut and have tinning on them.
